Shannon Heritage boasts 2 Walled Gardens, both of which provide the perfect setting for your wedding pictures.
The Walled Garden at Bunratty House is a surviving component of the demesne which was originally formed around Bunratty Castle. It is just under a half an acre and lies north of Bunratty Castle and on the east side of Bunratty House. The garden was authentically restored to its former glory in the late 1990's with the assistance of an ERDF grant through the Great Gardens of Ireland Restoration Programme. The garden is modeled on the Original Regency period garden.
Knappogue Castle 1.284 acre 19th century Walled Garden is a very unique secluded location and lies to the North of the Castle. The tall imposing recently recapped walls rise approximately 4.26m high and are adorned with climbing roses, grapevines and fig trees. The garden has been carefully restored in Victorian Style. The main features are the pergola, the tranquil gazebo, the rockery and pathways lined with herbaceous borders and shrubberies. The garden provides the castle kitchen with daily herbs for use in the preparation of banquet and wedding feasts.
