Dunguaire Castle Banquet

After a short history of the Castle and a musical introduction by the Castle Singers, guests climb the staircase to enter the Banquet Hall. There the bench seating, dim candle - light and long oak tables reflect the Banqueting style of the medieval era.
The 4 course meal is a pleasant balance of Irish Fish and Meat dishes as served during the period and is accompanied with music, song and verse.
After dinner, we invite you to sit back, relax and enjoy the entertainment programme. The entertainment programme takes the form of a selection of songs, poems and excerpts from the Irish Literary writers and poets that were associated with the Galway Region e.g. Yeats, Synge, Shaw, Gogarty and Fahy.

Location

Dunguaire Castle is situated 300 yards outside Kinvara Village Co. Galway, on the coast road in the direction of Galway City.

Historical Note

Dunguaire is a small atmospheric 17th century castle on the rocky promontory just outside the village of Kinvara on the shores of Galway Bay.

Banquet sitting times

5.30pm and 8.45pm. May to September.

Entertainment

Includes a full entertainment programme with a selection of songs, poems, and excerpts from the Irish literary writers and poets who had associations with the Galway region. These include such names as W. B. Yeats, Synge, Joyce and Francis Fahy.

Capacity Car & Coach Facilities
