

Fancy some 'ceol agus craic' this St Patricks Day? As part of the fun packed St. Partrick’s Day event at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park, Shannon Heritage has organised a guest appearance by St. Patrick and his merry band of Leprechauns. St. Patrick will even bring along some snakes for people to have a look at.
To mark the national holiday the village school teacher will give fun Irish language classes at the 19th century themed school house. There will be a live performance of Bunratty’s renowned Traditional Irish Night entertainers, with two shows, each starting at 2.00 pm and 4.00 pm respectively.
Live traditional Irish music will be available on the Folk Park village street. Foot tapping events have also been organised and this will include free set dancing classes and displays. There will also be a children’s disco and Irish themed magic show.
In addition to this, visitors will be able to enjoy a time travel journey back to the 15th century at medieval Bunratty Castle, and see what life was like in rural Ireland over 150 years ago through the many thatch cottages and exhibits at Bunratty Folk Park.
The event will run from 1.00 pm to 5.00 pm and normal admission fees to Bunratty Caslte and Folk Park will apply with no additional cost for the St. Patrick’s Day entertainment.
On the day there will be
