Summer Nights at King Johns Castle

King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table

7.30 pm on Friday 11th July, by Chapterhouse Theatre Company.

This year the Company intends to enthral and entertain Irish audiences with their open air rendition of 'King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table' at King John’s Castle.

Their open air style of theatre is the ideal way to pass a lazy summer’s evening with family or friends. As part of a truly memorable experience the audience are encouraged to bring their own picnic, complete with chairs, or picnic blankets, to the Castle to add to the atmosphere and enhance their enjoyment of the evening. The castle will be open at 6.45pm on the night for picnics.

“King Arthur” is the story of an ordinary boy who grows to be the most loved King throughout history. A story of magic and love set in the legendary court of Camelot. A specially commissioned script, sword and sorcery and a wonderful evenings entertainment for all the family.

With a large cast, traditional costume and an original music score performed by members of the company, Chapterhouse Theatre Company has for the past eight years presented splendid productions in the gardens of some of the most magnificent castles, heritage sites and country house hotels across the UK and Ireland.

Open-air theatre lends itself perfectly to pre-show picnics and/or suppers, which help towards creating an enjoyable and memorable experience for the audience.

Chapterhouse Theatre Company prides itself on producing accessible, traditional but innovative shows that have entertained thousands of theatregoers
