National Heritage Week in Bunratty Castle and Folk Park

Stories from the Shannon River and Estuary

Enjoy an evening of storytelling facilitated by Róisín Burke, Abarta Heritage,

from communities along the Shannon River Estuary Way from Knock to

Shannon. The Shannon Estuary is a spectacular and unspoiled place of                                              

remarkable beauty.  There are many fascinating stories to be told about the

river and the people who live along its banks.

Come and hear the local story about the

Sea Monster at Labasheeda,

the Colleen Bawn,

Tom Mangan and his pedal boat

adventure stories about life on the river,

the ancient fish traps at Clarecastle and punt boats,

the gandelows,

the Shannon Explorer and much more.
