We have a host of events throughout Ireland to celebrate Culture Night 2019. Returning for its fourteenth year, Culture Night will take place on Friday September 20th.
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park
The phenomenon that is Culture Night, invites venues and public spaces across the island of Ireland to open up their doors and host a programme of free late-night entertainment, as part of an all-island celebration of arts, heritage and culture. Returning for its fourteenth year, Culture Night 2019 will take place on Friday September 20th.
To mark Culture Night 2019, Bunratty Castle and Folk Park will open its doors to the public free of charge from 5pm - 8pm (last admission 7pm).
As part of this celebration of culture, the attraction’s wonderful Traditional Irish night team will perform a series of 30 minute performances in the Corn Barn at 5.30pm and 6.45pm*.
Sit back and enjoy the best in Irish music, dance and song from some of our region’s some talented artists.

Visitors on the night are also invited to enjoy all the delights the folk park has to offer from the brand new Pa’s Pet Farm, Viking playground and newly redeveloped fairy trail or indulge in some retail therapy in the magnificent Shannon Irish Design Store who stock a wonderful range of products from both local and Irish designers.
Finish the evening off with a relaxing drink by the fire in the cosy surrounds of Mac’s Pub on the village street or a slice of our world famous apple pie in the park’s charming tea rooms.

King John’s Castle
As part of the Culture Night celebrations in King John’s Castle, Limerick will open its doors free of charge to the public from 5pm-8pm.
For it’s cultural contribution, the castle will play host the wonderful Shannon Gospel Choir who will perform a very special outdoor concert in the courtyard from 7 - 8pm.
Having celebrated their 10th anniversary earlier this year, Shannon Gospel Choir is widely known for its contemporary style and balanced sound. With the stunning backdrop of the dramatic courtyard of this iconic castle, this promises to be a performance to remember. This is a capacity controlled event so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
While on site, visitors also have the opportunity to explore the castle’s visitor centre complete with state of the art interpretive activities and exhibitions. 21st century touch screen technology, 3D models and discovery drawers will connect you to tales of siege and warfare. Climb the castle towers and take in stunning views across Limerick City and the River Shannon.

GPO Witness History Museum
Come explore the 1916 Easter Rising, War of Independence, Civil War, the peace process and more in this award winning visitor centre! To celebrate this special night there will be a Proclamation reading every 30 minutes in the courtyard. Not to be missed – pre booking essential!
